Common Sense Evaluation

President Washington would meet fierce opposition if he were to speak his mind in today’s political climate. Washington’s words still ring true, although he would probably not be accepted by modern established political forces or the major news outlets. Even so, he was a consummate field general, an aristocrat who doted on his armed forces, and a very human man of sensibility, grounded in biblical moral statutes. He knew full well the advantages of an armed populace as a check on government power, even as he became the head of such power.
