A Second Group Of Electors

A Second Group Of Electors

Our Founding Fathers were very worldly and knowledgeable for their times. They knew that the courts couldn’t always be depended on to act quickly enough to solve such a situation as what just happened this past November. That is the precise reason why a mechanism of allowing any state’s legislature to convene a vote to send a second group of electors to Congress was written into our Constitution.

What is now happening is the constitutional equivalent of Halley’s Comet. We can barely imagine that a small group of men who didn’t have computers or cell phones, had no televisions or automatic heating in their homes could have imagined that there might be a day, maybe even hundreds of years in the future when the United States would absolutely need a constitutional emergency brake. This faulty election fail-safe switch has endured although almost forgotten by time and dusty from non-use. But today, the constitutional emergency brake was just pulled HARD. And believe it, IT STILL WORKS!

This is why we should pause at some point after the storm is over. We will then share a moment of silence to remember our Founding Fathers and how amazing is their gift of our Constitution.
