I just got back from a visit from one of our elementary classes. Apparently, last week, this class had their photograph taken together. When I walked into the classroom, the teacher was trying to persuade her students that it would be a good idea for each of them to buy the group photo. “Just think how nice it will be to look at this photo when you are all grown up and say, ‘There’s Jennifer; she’s a lawyer,’ or ‘There’s Michael, he’s a doctor.’”
A small voice piped up at the rear of the classroom and observed wistfully, “And there’s the teacher; she’s dead.”
