In English, “re” is a prefix usually meaning “again”, such as in “rebuild” (build again). However, there are many words starting with “re” which have a totally different meaning without the “re”.

You will be given two definitions, one for a word starting with “re”, and one for the remaining word without the “re” (either definition could be given first).
Example: exhausting / ceasing employment
Answer: tiring / retiring

1. difficult search / politely ask
2. trustworthy / legally responsible
3. hospital room / prize for achievement
4. back in good health / put something over
5. rhythmic force in arteries / drive back by force
6. smooth by ironing / subdue by force
7. become less severe / provided in loan
8. process of updating / act of seeing

Joke Of The Day: 24 Kids I was talking with a man who had 24 kids.

I asked him how come he had so many kids.

He said, “Well, you see, my wife is hard of hearing.”

I asked him what that had to do with anything.

He said, “Every night I ask her ‘Do you want to go to sleep, or what?’ and every night she replies, ‘What.'”

If a man wants to pretend he's a woman, that's up to him. But, if he wants us to pretend he's a woman, that's up to us.

They say I came from Africa.
I suppose that may be true.
But the type I am was mostly played
In a place where grass is blue.
Of wood and pearl, skin and steel,
You could say I am high strung.
My neck looks like a ladder,
With brass on every rung.
