Harry Reid Fingered In Bribery Case

Corrupt Harry Reid

Embattled St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson says new Utah Attorney General John Swallow helped broker a deal in 2010 in which Johnson believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into Johnson’s company go away.

But when the federal government filed a lawsuit Johnson thought he had paid to quash, he demanded Swallow return some of the $250,000 initial payment. Then, just days before the Nov. 6 election, Johnson engaged in a frenetic but unsuccessful effort to get Swallow to drop out of the race, saying information about what Johnson called a “bribe” would come out and force the Republican’s resignation if he became attorney general.

Johnson’s allegations come less than a week after Swallow took the oath of office. Federal agents have interviewed several Utahns about Johnson’s relationship with Swallow, among other issues, according to those interviewed. The FBI would not comment.

Johnson said he does not know if any of the money he paid in the deal actually reached anyone connected to Reid.

Reid’s office declined to comment, spokeswoman Kristen Orthman said Friday.

World’s Biggest Pile Of Leaves

I wonder how much dog poop was mixed in with all those leaves.

Nick Garrett and his northern Utah buddies know how to kid around, from burying a treasure chest filled with chocolate coins on Venice Beach to doing flips off the roof of a house into what they call the “World’s Biggest Pile of Leaves.”

Three of their YouTube videos have gone viral, generating a little cash for them and even laughs from those who need it most — victims of Hurricane Sandy.

“I got chills when I read one,” Garrett said of an email response to a Halloween prank that involved carrying around their own door, bringing “reverse trick-or-treating” to people’s doorsteps.

He said the email from a Sandy victim suggested the three pranksters may just be having fun, “but you’re cheering up everyone that’s having a hard time.”

It’s easy to laugh watching 21-year-old Garrett, of Ogden, and his friends do back flips and cartwheels into a giant leaf pile that grew to 17 feet high and 60 feet in circumference.

Video of the stunt already has been viewed 1.5 million times, and it was only posted Sunday night.

Similarly, their Venice Beach caper caught 1.8 million views on their “bangakang” YouTube channel — the name a takeoff from Peter Pan and the lost boys who never want to grow up and yell bangarang. With bangarang already taken, they opted for something close.

Garrett, Weber State buddy Tyler White, 22, and carpet-cleaning friend Johnny Murdock, 25, were putting up fliers for their channel when they noticed all the bags of leaves on the streets awaiting the garbage man.

They rented a huge truck and started their own collection Nov. 8, picking up more than 1,200 bags and raking the yards of three or four houses around Logan themselves.

They dumped the estimated 20,000 pounds of leaves at a friend’s house in nearby Roy, and the following weekend pulled an all-nighter building the giant pile.

“We’ve never done anything like that, but in high school we’d always do crazy stuff,” said Garrett, who attends Utah State University. “It’s every kid’s dream to have a giant pile of leaves.”

By the time they were done, friends and family members couldn’t resist diving in, or jumping off the roof into the pile.

“No one got lost, no one got hurt,” Garrett said. “It was all good fun.”

Mysterious Fanged Fish Shows Up In Utah Pond

I’m sure there has to be some logical explanation for this but it is interesting news just the same.

A bizarre find in Pioneer Park Pond in Brigham City Utah has biologists stumped. A fish with fangs was discovered; now officials are trying to figure out what exactly it is.

Mystery Creature In Utah Baffles Biologists

A fanged creature found in Utah after some ice melted on a pond has stumped biologists trying to determine what it is.

The strange creature was found after about 4,000 fish were discovered dead in a Brigham City pond, according to officials.

Officials said the pond may have been poisoned or the water may have run out of oxygen due to the thick ice.

While checking the pond, the creature was spotted.

“When we first saw that fish, we thought what in the ….. is that thing?” Utah Divison of Wildlife Resources Ben Boyce said.

The fish was found with carp and goldfish that had been stocked in the pond.

Biologists said they are not sure what the creature is and that it could be a type of trout whose tissue decomposed rapidly, making its teeth more prominent.

Aquatic biologists said if they can’t figure it out, they’ll let the fish decompose fully and then examine the bone structure to determine the species.
