“Whirled Beat”

“Rhythm is something you either have or don’t have, but when you have it, you have it all over.” ~ Elvis Presley

Enjoy!

ARVE Error: need id and provider

If you’re a drummer like me, you will most definitely be left amazed and in awe at what you’re about to see. But even if you have no music ability whatsoever, what you’re about to watch will still likely make your jaw drop.

The video was posted in September, but it’s just now starting to go viral. It’s titled “‘Whirled Beat’ 10-year-old boy drumming washing machine.” Yes, it’s a young boy using a washing machine as a drum. And yes, it is incredible.

The New ‘Intelligent’ Rifle That Claims to Give You a Perfect Shot Every Time

Fighter jet technology for your rifle? Sign me up!

A new Texas-based company is developing a shooting system that could turn even the least skilled marksmen into a sniper-quality shooter.

TrackingPoint calls its system the “world’s first precision guided firearm.”

President Jason Schauble explained in a YouTube demonstration of the technology that what the company did is “put jet fighter lock-and-launch technology into a firing system.”

The system uses a conventional gun and ammunition, but combines them with a Intelligent Digital Tracking Scope and a guided trigger. The technology doesn’t let you fire until the shot is spot on.

“You don’t have to be an experienced shooter,” Schauble said in the video. “You can come and pick this up and within minutes be able to master the tag-track-exact technology that allows you to get on target.”

Abbey Watson: The 13-Year-Old Record-Holding Powerlifter

Bacon… The breakfast of champions!

Abbey Watson is 105.75 pounds. She can squat with 143.3 pounds. She can deadlift 176 pounds. And for these feats of strength, Watson has eight different world records and 23 U.S. and Colorado state records.

Here’s the kicker: Watson is only the eighth grade. Impressed? There’s more. Yahoo News reports, is that Watson, 13, only started weight training in this capacity three years ago.

What is the key to Watson’s success? Perhaps, it’s that bacon is her favorite food, which her coach Jonathan Sabar said would be fine in a “well-rounded paleo diet”. But Sabar’s theory is more likely:

“I think the reason Abbey is lifting weight that surpasses adults is because she‘s never been told she can’t do it.”

KUSA reports that Watson hopes to go to the Olympics for weightlifting someday.

Japanese Co. Develops Material Two-Times Harder and Faster-Curing Than Concrete

A Japanese company has developed a material that cures within one minute and has a tensile strength more than two times that of concrete. For cities affected by natural disaster, this “CO2 Structure” could help reconstruction happen faster.

Concrete usually takes 28 days to cure to its full strength. By blowing CO2 into silica, TIS Partners LTD was able to make the silica into a substance as hard as brick, as reported by DigInfo TV (via Gizmodo). TIS Partners President Norihide Imagawa said they then increased strength by adding epoxy or urethane.

Allen West Challenges Conservative Mothers: ‘Spartan Women… Raise Spartan Men’

Transcript:

But when you understood what made the Spartan men strong, it was the Spartan women. Because the Spartan women at the age of nine gave up their male sons. And their male sons went into a training that was called the Agoge and they stayed in that training for the next eleven to twelve years. And when they were finally qualified, when they were finally ready to join the ranks for the Spartan army, it was not their father who gave them their cloak and shield. It was their mother who gave them their shield. And when the Spartan mother gave that young Spartan warrior his shield, she gave him this basic commandment: “Spartan, here is your shield. Come back bearing this shield or being borne upon it!”

When Queen Gorgo, wife of King Leonidas, was questioned by the Persian emissary and she somewhat spoke out of turn to this Persian emissary, he tried to rebuke her. And she looked at him and said “Persian, beware, for it is Spartan women who raise Spartan men.”
