“Limelight” On A Speedbag

Ex-Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy performs “Limelight” by Rush on a Speedbag.

Enjoy!

Rush rules! That’s that! Limelight rules!

Neil, Alex, and Geddy rule!

I had the good fortune to open for them with Vinnie Moore (and John JD DeServio for BLS) Back in 1991 on the Roll The Bones tour.

Mr. Peart graciously let this kid play his kit at Madison Square Garden! (Still a total highlight of my life!)

Since Tom Sawyer kicked my ass in 7th grade, Neil Peart has been one of my top 2 all time favorite drummers!

Listen to the 7/8 gtr solo section of La Villa Strangiato!! One of the baddest grooves ever created!! I could go on forever! Anyhow, I haven’t practiced the fine art of Speed Bagging or Punch Drumming (playing the bag in time) in years, but it’s sort of like riding a bike or playing the drums…

So I was determined to, with no miss-hits, get through the mighty LIMELIGHT before I go on tour. Well, I lost it at the very end while “pulling rope” boxer style, but hey!, it was the ending of like the 100th take! It’s good enough for now! Hope YA dig it! If you’re into drums, Rush and sweatin’ it up, put a speed bag in your garage, buy Alan Kahn’s Speed Bag Bible, go watch some Speed Bag Skunk (Zack Ruffo) and get to work!

BAG ON!!!!!💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. . “

7 Year Old Drummer Plays ‘Tom Sawyer’

Avery Molek is an amazing 7 year-old drummer. In this video Avery covers Rush’s iconic hit ‘Tom Sawyer.’ This song is tough enough for adult drummers to handle but Avery plays along with it flawlessly.

Enjoy!

This is my first song I learned by sheet music all by myself.

Thank you Pat for teaching me how to read notes and music!

“Whirled Beat”

“Rhythm is something you either have or don’t have, but when you have it, you have it all over.” ~ Elvis Presley

Enjoy!

ARVE Error: need id and provider

If you’re a drummer like me, you will most definitely be left amazed and in awe at what you’re about to see. But even if you have no music ability whatsoever, what you’re about to watch will still likely make your jaw drop.

The video was posted in September, but it’s just now starting to go viral. It’s titled “‘Whirled Beat’ 10-year-old boy drumming washing machine.” Yes, it’s a young boy using a washing machine as a drum. And yes, it is incredible.
