Picture Of The Day: Star-spangled Sky

Old Glory in the sky!

Star-spangled sky
Spectacular image by Chicago photographer Jeff Lewis appears to show an American flag in the sky

It may not be a Star-Spangled Banner, but this incredible photo of the evening sky is more like the US flag than any cloudscape you are likely to see.

The beautiful vista, tweeted by Chicago photographer Jeff Lewis, shows a cluster of dark blue clouds in the upper left-hand corner and a pattern of red horizontal stripes cast by the brilliant setting sun.

The pretty photo has already had more than 300,000 views on imgur, with some commenters wishing ‘the stars were out on the blue part of it’, while others said it had ‘blown their minds’.

Playing The Star-Spangled Banner With A Gun

This may be the most patriotic thing ever!

When thinking of America there are two things that may come to mind, patriotism and guns. This video is the perfect mix of the two, and one no one gets hurt.

Musical Targets is a “source for armoury harmony” – a place where gun enthusiasts in Colorado can shoot and make music at the same time.

Here, the folks at Musical Targets show off their aural and rifle skills by playing the tune for the US national anthem, the Star-Spangled Banner.

Rhema Marvanne Sings Our National Anthem

Rhema Marvanne, born September 15, 2002, is a Gospel Singer and actress from in Carrollton, Texas. In this video she sings our National Anthem at the age of 7.

Rhema began singing about the same time she began talking. She has dedicated her singing to her Mother, Wendi, who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 36. Her version of “Amazing Grace“, which was her mother’s favorite song, will also knock your socks off.

This is how you sing the National Anthem! This little girl is overflowing with patriotism!

God bless Rhema Marvanne and the USA!

Maybe we should send this to the ones who want to change our national anthem because it is too hard to sing, and the words are too hard to remember!
