Here’s my take on the Russian folk song “Korobeiniki,” better known as the “Type A” theme from Tetris on the Nintendo Game Boy. To the best of my knowledge, this song is public domain eligible. That means that I can offer it for sale to you geekers!
Super Modern Mario Bros 2013
The first two levels from the classic NES game Super Mario Bros. has been reproduced, hacked, and parodied online too many times to count.
Last year, BlueMasters studios went viral with their extremely impressive 2D-3D hybrid parody of World 1-1, titled Super Modern Mario Bros., garnering over 1.5 million hits.
Now, they have finally returned to continue the modern reproduction of the classic game with this video of theoretical “game play” from the familiar World 1-2 underground level.
Here is a very simple yet effective video from José Cardona. He though to himself, “What if one of the best martial arts movies of all time could be played like Shenmue?” So he pulled the legendary Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris scene from Way of the Dragon, slapped some QTE prompts up there, then filmed an accompanying video of him “playing” the game on a Dreamcast controller. When José hits the buttons properly, Chuck gets kicked in the face. When he doesn’t, Bruce gets kicked in the face. Perfect.
