A pair of baking sisters have scored an online hit by creating an amazing range of cupcakes based on Jim Henson’s Muppets.
Mandy and Caroline – the people behind Cupcake Occasions – say they were initially commissioned to create the brightly coloured cakes for a wedding last year.
But the resulting cupcake incarnations of characters including Kermit, Miss Piggy and Animal were so impressive images of then went on to become an online hit.
We’re probably all used to seeing retro-licious lunchbox art decorating the outside of our favorite food carryalls. LunchboxAwesome, however, looks at the artful designs on the inside of lunchboxes. Muppets, cartoon characters, and animated figures are carefully composed out of food, making a colorful and creative display out of your mealtime endeavors.
Bert, one-half of everyone’s favorite homosexual Muppet couple (sorry, crotchety old bickering guys!) is seen here in a little too life-like silicon sculpture by artist and Effects Studio member Nacho (you’re useless without cheese!). As you can see, he has a face that would send children running straight into traffic (and not zig-zagging like you’re supposed to). Damn, somebody’s gonna have nightmares tonight. And it’s gonna be you. Get it? Because I’m gonna call right before bed and be all creepy!
