“The Garden Ape” by Emma de Swaef and Marc James Roels of Marc & Emma (previously) is a short film featuring an adorable wool ape exploring a wild garden complete with a real snail, hedgehog, and more. The film was made for the Wonderlijk Wild campaign for Natuurpunt, which encourages gardening to provide a habitat for wild animals.

Nope, that’s not a typo. Animator Yotam Perel aka Lazy Pillow took a corny pun and just rolled with it. Unlike real Rube Goldberg machines, the journey here isn’t as impressive as the destination.

A rock creature does what he has to do in this really short story from House Special. I love how expressive his face is; it’s the exact opposite of the “stone face” you’d expect. And since it’s just animation, you can laugh without feeling guilty.
