16 Years Ago ‘The Simpsons’ Predicted President Trump

An episode of ‘The Simpsons’ from 2000 predicted Donald Trump would become President at some point in the future.

Sixteen years ago, The Simpsons basically predicted that Donald Trump would be President at some point in the future.

In the episode from 2000 called “Bart to the Future,” Bart gets to see what his adult self is like. At one point, he goes to see his sister Lisa, who ends up becoming the first “straight female President.” When he finally gets to his sister, he walks in on an important phone call about the country’s financial situation. She says, “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”

How much of a “budget crunch” did President Trump leave behind? Well, in the episode, America is “broke.”

Recently, the long-running show’s writer Dan Greaney told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year about the episode that this point in the episode was “a warning to America.” He said:

“What we needed was for Lisa to have problems that were beyond her fixing, that everything went as bad as it possibly could, and that’s why we had Trump be president before her.”

Is this situation coming to fruition? 😳 Watch at the 2:20 mark in the video above.
