20 deaf and mute members of the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe perform “Thousand-hand Guan Yin”. Guan Yin is the Chinese goddess of Mercy, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Her full name, Guanshiyin Pusa, means “bodhisattva who observes the sounds of the world”.
Feeling music through speakers and guided by hand gestures, the troupe of deaf and mute dancers take steps to champion the rights of disabled people across the world.
