I’m called a man,
But I’ll never have a wife.
I was given a body,
But not given life.
They made me a mouth,
But I wasn’t given breath.
Water gives life,
And sun gives me death.

I am a set of 3 words, all with the same six letters.
First, I am a kingdom, though not royally so.
Then spell me backwards, and I become a thin plate.
Now rearrange my consonants, leaving my vowels in place …
I am now a type of paper.

What are the words?

A woman was found dead in her bedroom by her husband. Apparently, she had committed suicide by using her husband’s gun. She had recorded her last moments, along with a confession to her suicide. After the police listened to the tape, they immediately arrested her husband for murder.

How did they know he did it?

One hot afternoon two friends were out relaxing on the back porch.
“Would you like some iced tea?” one man asked his friend.
“Oh yes, as long as it is good and cold.”
The host then brought his friend a large glass of iced tea and dropped two small ice cubes in it.
His friend took a sip and remarked, “It’s not very cold.”
“Give it a minute,” the host said.
The iced tea then appeared to start boiling. After a minute or so the ice melted, the boiling stopped, and the glass was ice-cold.
The man took a sip and thanked his friend for the very cool drink.

So what made the iced tea cool in this unusual way ?

A spoonerism is a transposition of initial sounds of two or more words (as in “tons of soil” for “sons of toil”).

So… What is a spoonerism for a counterfeit creature as opposed to a banquet of oven-cooked foods?
