Hero Dog

Man’s best friend at work.

Watch what this dog does when he thinks his owner is drowning.

This dog proves he’s his owner’s best friend as he stages a heroic water rescue.

Footage shows the canine quickly jumping into a lake when his master bobs below the surface.

After diving down, the pooch re-emerges with the man’s hand in its mouth. He then swims with his owner to shore.

Once they reach the water’s edge, the dog hops out.

The ‘rescued’ man throws a bemused look at the camera while his friend is heard laughing at the bizarre scene.

Many viewers have applauded the dog’s skill.

‘What an awesome pet,’ one fan mused.

Pet Arthritis

In simple terms, arthritis is defined as the deterioration of cartilage, causing the bones to grind against each other. Arthritis is a common ailment among both dogs and cats. Approximately one in five dogs over the age of seven suffer from some degree of arthritis pain, as well as 90% of geriatric cats.

Working dogs, athletic dogs, pets with diabetes or Cushing’s disease, and overweight pets are at an elevated risk for developing arthritis. Arthritis most commonly develops in the shoulders, elbows, knees, paws, hips, neck and back.

Treatment of canine and feline arthritis includes pain medications, joint supplements and a weight loss plan if the animal is obese. Owners should speak with their pet’s veterinarian to develop a treatment plan for their individual animal.

Dancing Deer

A dog and a deer meet in a stream and as they approach each other their curiosity is apparent. Once they connect the dog just seems to be really chilled out about the meeting of a new friend. However, the deer dances around the dog in a level of excitement that surprised the owner.

Description:

This deer thinks she’s a dog and runs with my dog when we go for a walk. This time she was feeling a little frisky.

Derby The Dog

Derby was born with deformed front legs. A cart didn’t help him experience running so a 3D printing company designed loop-shaped prosthetics to let Derby do what dogs love to do.

Technology… it’s a beautiful thing!

3D printing is such an amazing technology. In the past 2-3 years we have really seen the technology make its way into all fields of study and all walks of life. It has gone on to impact the lives of millions of people in one way or another, and has enabled many individuals to do things they never would have thought possible previously.

It’s not just humans that have been reaping the benefits of 3D printing. Our four-legged friends have also been seeing the many advantages that 3D printing provides. In the past, we’ve covered stories of different ways in which animals have been the benefactors of the technology. This includes TurbooRoo, a dog that had a wheelchair 3D printed for him, as well as other animals such as ducks, penguins, cats and more, that in some way, shape or form have benefited greatly from this relatively new technology.

Now, comes a story that may just blow all of these others out of the water. It is of a dog named Derby, who was born with two deformed legs.

It all started back in October when 3D Systems’ Director of CJP Product Management, Tara Anderson adopted Derby as a foster mom from Peace and Paws Dog Rescue, after his owners could no long care for him. Peace and Paws provided Derby with a home, preventing him from ultimately being euthanized.
