Tick Tock… Tick Tock: Israeli Warplanes Practice in Iraq

Why is it that Israel seems to be the only country that realizes time is running out?

I guess they feel rushed to get this done while Bush is still in office. If Obama is elected, they know he will throw them under the bus.

Israeli warplanes practice in Iraq

Israel Air Force (IAF) war planes are practicing in Iraqi airspace and land on US airbases in the country as a preparation for a potential strike on Iran, sources in the Iraqi Defense Ministry told a local news network on Friday.

The report, which was also carried by Iranian news outlets, claimed that recently massive IAF overnight presence was detected in several American held airbases.

Iraq denied on Friday reports claiming the Israeli Air Force has been practicing for a possible attack against Iran in its airspace.

According to the sources, former military officers in the Anbar province said IAF jets arrive during the night from Jordanian airspace, enter Iraq’s airspace and land on a runway near the city of Hadita. The sources estimated the jets were practicing for a raid on Iran’s nuclear sites.

The sources also said the American bases in Iraq might serve as a platform for the IAF from which to attack Iran. If Israeli warplanes will take off from Iraq, they can reach Bushehr in five minutes – a “record time,” the sources said.

After reports of a massive IAF exercise over the Mediterranean surfaced several weeks ago, an Israeli official told the times that the drill was “the dress rehearsal” for an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.

On Thursday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Israel was the “strongest country in the region.” Sending a thinly veiled warning to Iran, Barak said Israel “has already proved it did not shy away in the past from acting when it fears its vital interests are at stake.”

Ahmadinejad’s Newest Apocalyptic Vision

I guess our only hope is for Barack Obama to hurry over to Iran to sit down and talk with this nut job. I’m sure he’ll be able to say something to him that will cause Ahmadinejad to have an epiphany and suddenly come to love all Jews. Heck, with his messianic ways, Obama might even be able to get Ahmadinejad to convert to Judaism.

Seriously, at what point do threats from Ahmadinejad warrant a response?

There are only so many options:

1. We do nothing and hope Iran doesn’t develop a nuclear weapon that wipes Israel off the map.

2. We try diplomacy, which is nothing more than negotiation with a lunatic, or

3. We send a message, like Ronald Reagan did with Gaddafi in Libya, by sending a couple of punk-seeking missiles into the Presidential palace.

Ahmadinejad says Israel will soon disappear

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted on Monday that Muslims would uproot “satanic powers” and repeated his controversial belief that Israel will soon disappear, the Mehr news agency reported.

“I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene,” he said.

“Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started.”

Since taking the presidency in August 2005, Ahmadinejad has repeatedly provoked international outrage by predicting Israel is doomed to disappear.

“I tell you that with the unity and awareness of all the Islamic countries all the satanic powers will soon be destroyed,” he said to a group of foreign visitors ahead of the 19th anniversary of the death of revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Ahmadinejad also again expressed his apocalyptic vision that tyranny in the world be abolished by the return to earth of the Mahdi, the 12th imam of Shiite Islam, alongside great religious figures including Jesus Christ.

“With the appearance of the promised saviour… and his companions such as Jesus Christ, tyranny will be soon be eradicated in the world.”

Ahmadinejad has always been a devotee of the Mahdi, who Shiites believe disappeared more than a thousand years ago and who will return one day to usher in a new era of peace and harmony.

His emphasis on the Mahdi has been a cause of controversy inside Iran with critics saying he would be better solving bread-and-butter domestic problems rather than talking about Iran’s divine responsibility.

MadMood AhmaNutJob Says That Israel Is “Dying”

The religion of peace rears its ugly head once again.

I wish our politicians had the courage to put this nut job out of our and Israel’s misery once and for all. Unfortunately, unless you vote for me that is never going to happen!

Iran’s Ahmadinejad says Israel “dying”

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Israel was “dying” and that people in the Middle East would destroy it if given the chance.

His remarks coincided with the arrival of U.S. President George W. Bush in the Middle East to celebrate Israel’s 60th birthday and try to energise peace efforts complicated by a corruption scandal that could topple Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

Opposition to Israel is a fundamental principle in Shi’ite Muslim Iran, which backs Palestinian militants opposed to peace with the Jewish state.

“The Zionist regime is dying,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern city of Gorgan, referring to Israel. “The criminals imagine that by holding celebrations … they can save the Zionist regime from death.”

“They should know that regional nations hate this fake and criminal regime and if the smallest and briefest chance is given to regional nations they will destroy (it),” said Ahmadinejad, who often rails against Israel and the United States.

A 2005 statement by Ahmadinejad saying that “Israel should be wiped off the map” outraged the international community.

Last month, a senior Iranian army commander said Iran will respond to any military attack from Israel by “eliminating” it, in comments condemned by Washington.

Iran, the world’s fourth-largest oil producer, says it has developed ballistic missiles able to hit Israel and U.S. bases in the region.

Some analysts have speculated that Israel might attack Iran to stop its nuclear activities, which the West fears are a front for weapons development. Iran, which does not recognise Israel, insists it wants nuclear technology only for electricity.

Washington says it wants a diplomatic resolution to the nuclear dispute but has not ruled out military action if that fails. Tehran insists it will not bow to Western pressure.

Iran Will Have Nukes This Year

If this news is coming from Israel, it can’t be good. Their intelligence is usually right on the mark.

The time has come to send Mahmoud Ahmadinejad off to meet the 72 virgins. They can’t possibly still be virgins, can they?

‘Iran may get nuke technology this year’

Iran will likely have nuclear bomb technology in 2008, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz said Wednesday, citing an updated Israeli intelligence assessment.

However, Mofaz, a former defense minister and IDF chief of General Staff, said in a speech at Yale University, Connecticut, that Iran could have the know-how to build nuclear arms within months.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s office would not comment on Mofaz’s new assessment of the Iranian program.

In his speech on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the transportation minister went on to say that while the diplomatic channel was the preferred and correct option to stop Iran becoming a nuclear power, if sanctions do not prove effective, that option must be removed from the table. He said every scenario must be prepared for and that any means of ensuring Iran does not go nuclear would be valid.

Referring to the Holocaust, Mofaz said that everyone has learned that history sometimes repeats itself but that now the world had an opportunity to ensure that it doesn’t. He said “this time,” the Jewish people would not let it happen, expressing hope that the world, too, would not let it happen.

An Iranian technician works at the Uranium Conversion Facility just outside the city of Isfahan 410 kilometers south of Teheran.

He called the Iranian regime the central threat to humanity in the 21st century.

Mofaz was in the US heading an Israeli delegation, which was holding meetings with US officials, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, within the framework of the Israel-US Strategic Dialogue.

Barack Obama Gets Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Coveted Endorsement

Who does Mahmoud Ahmadinejad endorse for our next President? Why of course it would have to be the next Jimmy Carter. Although Iran said that it does not back any of the US presidential candidates, Ahmadinejad’s choice is clear.

Earlier in March, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the Spanish El Pais newspaper that the real circles of power in America would not allow Senator Barack Obama to enter the White House, adding that he would have no problems if the junior senator from Illinois were to be elected.
