Quinine used in cold medicines far longer then the 2005 study on coronavirus (try a hundred years in over the counter tablets alone)
This particular formulation in cold tablets – well known for actually working, was taken off the market not because of quinine, but the particular formulation Quinine hydrobromide, 25mg, which sometimes in rare cases of too much and long use causes Bromism (it was on the market 100 years before the 60s and 70s. used by millions without bromism).
It was still over the counter until about 10 years ago in another form to cure leg cramps. And it is still over the counter in many places.
In over words, too unsafe to handle, unknown, not known to work, etc is complete BS. The reason everyone can’t take a cold medicine right now to prevent Coronovirus is the FDA. It’s a completely FDA created and made artificial shortage.
