Obama Tells SF Chronicle He Will Bankrupt Coal Industry

I found this on NewsBusters. Spread it around to everyone you know especially in coal states like Virginia , Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado and Indiana.

Imagine if John McCain had whispered somewhere that he was willing to bankrupt a major industry? Would this declaration not immediately be front page news? Well, Barack Obama actually flat out told the San Francisco Chronicle (SF Gate) that he was willing to see the coal industry go bankrupt in a January 17, 2008 interview. The result? Nothing. This audio interview has been hidden from the public…until now. Here is the transcript of Obama’s statement about bankrupting the coal industry (emphasis mine):

Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I’ve said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else’s out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.

That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches.

The only thing I’ve said with respect to coal, I haven’t been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.

It’s just that it will bankrupt them.

Amazing that this statement by Obama about bankrupting the coal industry has been kept under wraps until this time.

Peggy Joseph Thinks Obama Is Going To Pay For Her Gas And Mortgage

It is very sad that these people who put their faith in Obama are like “sheep being led to the slaughter” and they don’t even realize it.

Do you know who is going to be paying for her gas and mortgage? People like you and me who worked hard to get to where we are. Make no mistake it won’t be the people making over $250K, it will be everyone. Once the Bush tax cuts expire everybody’s taxes are going up.

I never thought this day would ever happen. I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage.

You know. If I help him (Obama), he’s gonna help me.

Peggy Joseph thinks won’t need to worry about paying for her gas, mortgage, and who knows what else, under Barack Obama. So…tell us who will pay it, or help her pay it?

We the People – John McCain “Fight with Me”

This is an excellent video that should be an ad. Send to all you know. Stand up and fight!

Arizona Senator and Presidental Candidate John McCain’s speech at the Republican National Convention ended with “Stand up, Stand Up Fight with Me”. McCain was awesome and brought down the house.

We didn’t land on the moon because someone did it for us.

American atheletes win gold medals because of hard work, not because the government has had them training since childhood.

We didn’t let evil take over the world in World War II.

America is a great country based on hard work and principles laid out by our founding fathers.

It’s time to Stand up and Fight for them. We the People have a choice.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Campaigns for McCain-Palin

Did Arnold just call Obama a girly man?

‘Governator’ Schwarzenegger mocks ‘skinny’ Obama

“Every year in March I come here to organize the Arnold Classic, which is all about building the body and pumping,” Schwarzenegger said.

“That’s why I want to invite Senator Obama because he needs to do something about those skinny legs. I’m going to make him do some squats.

“And then we’re going to make him do some biceps curls to beef up those scrawny little arms. But if he could only do something about putting some meat on his ideas.

“Senator McCain on the other hand is built like a rock. His character and his views are solid.”
