The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Epstein’s death a suicide by hanging, but a forensic pathologist who observed the four-hour autopsy on behalf of Epstein’s brother, Mark, told 60 Minutes the evidence points more to murder than suicide in his view. Dr. Michael Baden’s key reason: the unusual fractures he saw in Epstein’s neck.
Jeffrey Epstein’s Autopsy: 60 Minutes examines the circumstances surrounding his death in a Manhattan federal jail cell.
Epstein’s death and the string of coincidences that are almost statistically impossible to happen without some conspiracy:
- Taken off suicide watch
- Moved back to the Secure Housing Unit
- Has a sleep machine with electric cables and ball point pens in cell
- His required cellmate is relocated hours before the “suicide”
- The camera monitoring his cell takes a crap
- Guards watching him go 8+ hours without checking on him
- Guards falsify records
- Strangulation marks don’t match and broken bones and aren’t consistent with hanging
- Cell looks ransacked
- EMTs remove the body from a crime scene thereby breaking protocol
