CHER has spoken frankly about how she was once “crazy” for Tom Cruise.
The singer had a brief relationship with the actor, 16 years her junior, at the start of his career.

Only now, as she publicises an upcoming run of shows in Las Vegas, has her version of events emerged.

Reflecting on their affair, she said it could have been a “great big romance” if they hadn’t been forced apart by their filming schedules.

They are thought to have met at a White House fund-raising event in the mid-eighties when he was basking in the success of his hit film Risky Business.

Cher, 39 at the time, is said to have been smitten almost immediately with the 23-year-old.

While Cruise’s career was very much in its ascendancy, she had by that time been a star for almost two decades.

Cher, 61, told Oprah Winfrey: “I was crazy about him.”

In the show, to be seen on US television next month, she spoke of Cruise, now 45, as an awkward young man who was struggling to adjust to his new life.

“He was shy,” she said. “He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school.
“He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.

“It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him.”

As she recounted her time with the actor, the audience burst into a frenzy of cheering and whooping, especially when she spoke of one particularly “long night” in his arms.

The couple are thought to have dated for several months.

Their affair is understood to have ended when Cruise met Mimi Rogers, six years his senior, who was to become his first wife. He separated from Miss Rogers after three years in 1990.

He went on to marry Australian actress Nicole Kidman the same year and remained with her for 11 years until 2001.

He married third wife Katie Holmes in 2006. The couple have a two year-old daughter, Suri.

Brigitte Bardot On Trial In France For Speaking The Truth About Muslims

The Legal Jihad continues and apparently it is against the law to tell the truth in France. Let me point out the obvious fact, Islam is not a race it is a religion so how can Brigitte Bardot be put on trial for “inciting racial hatred”? I guess it is easier to prosecute a 73 year old woman for something she said as opposed to stopping Muslims from burning your country down.

I wonder if I can go to France and have Muslims put on trial for calling the United States “The Great Satan”?

Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur

French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of “inciting racial hatred” over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.

Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros ($23,760) for saying the Muslim community was “destroying our country and imposing its acts”.

Since retiring from the film industry in the 1970s, Bardot has become a prominent animal rights activist but she has also courted controversy by denouncing Muslim traditions and immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.

She has been fined four times for inciting racial hatred since 1997, at first 1,500 euros and most recently 5,000.

Prosecutor Anne de Fontette told the court she was seeking a tougher sentence than usual, adding: “I am a little tired of prosecuting Mrs Bardot.”

Bardot did not attend the trial because she said she was physically unable to. The verdict is expected in several weeks.

French anti-racist groups complained last year about comments Bardot made about the Muslim feast of Eid al-Adha in a letter to President Nicolas Sarkozy that was later published by her foundation.

Muslims traditionally mark Eid al-Adha by slaughtering a sheep or another animal to commemorate the prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son on God’s orders.

France is home to 5 million Muslims, Europe’s largest Muslim community, making up 8 percent of France’s population.

“I am fed up with being under the thumb of this population which is destroying us, destroying our country and imposing its acts,” the star of ‘And God created woman’ and ‘Contempt’ said.

Bardot has previously said France is being invaded by sheep-slaughtering Muslims and published a book attacking gays, immigrants and the unemployed, in which she also lamented the “Islamisation of France”.

Alicia Keys Suffering From Minority Psychosis

It’s called “minority psychosis” and it pops up, out of the blue, sometimes in the least expected people. Apparently Alicia Keys is its latest victim. What is “minority psychosis”? Well, it can be characterized by a ‘them and us’ syndrome based on extreme distrust and collective insecurity.

To sum it up, without even realizing it, another entertainer has exposed herself as a numskull. What a shame; all that talent and no brains.

Keys Talks About Her Conspiracy Theories

There’s another side to Alicia Keys: conspiracy theorist. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: “‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”

Keys, 27, said she’s read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ’em dead,” according to an interview in the magazine’s May issue, on newsstands Tuesday.

Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”

Keys’ AK-47 jewelry came as a surprise to her mother, who is quoted as telling Blender: “She wears what? That doesn’t sound like Alicia.” Keys’ publicist, Theola Borden, said Keys was on vacation and unavailable for comment.

Though she’s known for her romantic tunes, she told Blender that she wants to write more political songs. If black leaders such as the late Black Panther Huey Newton “had the outlets our musicians have today, it’d be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself,” she said.

The multiplatinum songstress behind the hits “Fallin'” and “No One” most recently had success with her latest CD, “As I Am,” which sold millions.

To paraphrase Oprah’s reason for this new age psychobabble: “I heard something about God from the Bible that I didn’t like, so I decided to create my own God.”

One thing to keep this in mind, as you watch this video, Oprah argues that there are a million ways to salvation, although she berates the Christian stress upon Jesus.
