Al Qaeda All But Totally Destroyed In Iraq: Only 200 Left

Joseph Shahda (jveritas) is an Arabic speaking American who has devoted his time to translating Arabic documents. He has translated and made available some important documents pertaining to The War on Terror. He also posts on the FreeRepublic which is where I ran across this information.

Al Qaeda Confession: Only 200 Foreign Terrorists are left in Iraq.

In his speech released yesterday Abou Omar Al Baghdadi the supposed leader of the Islamic State in Iraq which is Al Qaeda in Iraq said that only two hundered Mohajeroon are left in Iraq. Mohajeroon which means immigrants in Arabic are the foreign terrorists who came to fight in Iraq. This is yet the most stunning admission by Al Qaeda in Iraq that they are totally destroyed and from the tens of thousands of foreign terrorists they had, almost all of them are killed and captured and only two hundreds are left.

This is the quote translation of what Al Baghdadi said in his latest speech: “… with all that, the Mouhajeron in Mesopotamia left the world and went quickly to meet their lord after they sacrificed their money and their blood sometimes in the martyrdom operations and sometimes by throwing themselves in front of the enemy that only two hundreds Mouhajeron are left today in our beloved Iraq…”

Baseball Mascot Renamed After ‘PorkChop’ Considered Offensive

In my opinion, “PorkChop” is the perfect name for a pig. The new name named “Ferrous” is lame and forgettable. They should have given him a better name like “Muhammad”!

Does this mean that the episode of the Brady Bunch where Peter said “Pork Chops and apple sauce” will have to be edited because it really means “Puerto Ricans and applesauce”?

Boy, this politically correct bullshit is really annoying. Oh… I’m sorry; I used the word boy in the previous sentence.

If “PorkChop” is offensive to Hispanics, what do you suppose “Lamb Chop” means?

“PorkChop” Mascot Inflames Pa. Fans

Two days after naming its mascot “PorkChop,” the Philadelphia Phillies’ new Triple-A affiliate abruptly dropped the moniker after receiving complaints from Hispanics that it was offensive.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, whose mascot is a large, furry pig, had selected PorkChop from more than 7,300 fan submissions

General Manager Kurt Landes said he heard from several Hispanics who said PorkChop was derogatory.

The team, which begins play in 2008, announced Monday that the mascot will be named “Ferrous” instead.

“We were really unaware of any negative connotations with the word ‘pork chop,”‘ Landes said. “If it offended a few, it’s a few too many.”

The name dredged up memories of prejudice and racism for some area residents.

“Here in the Lehigh Valley, the name for Puerto Ricans was pork chop and in particular in areas like the steel company and Mack Truck,” said Guillermo Lopez, a Bethlehem Steel Corp. worker for 25 years. “I was called pork chop in the workplace,” reported The Express-Times in Allentown.

“If my parents were alive, they’d be having fits,” said Lopez, among those who complained to the team. “It meant much more to them than it does to Puerto Ricans now in the Lehigh Valley.”

PorkChop had been submitted by 32 fans. The replacement name, Ferrous – from the Latin word “ferrum,” or iron – received the most fan nominations, with 235.

“Thankfully because we have so much support in town, I think most of the e-mails were heads-up to say, ‘I don’t think you were aware of this,'” IronPigs spokesman Matt Provence said, according to the newspaper. “They were more instructive than they were resentful.”

The team moved to Allentown from Ottawa – where it was known as the Lynx – following the 2007 season. Construction is wrapping up on a new stadium in east Allentown.

Falling Dollar To Create More Jobs: Airbus, VW Headed to America

Don’t mistake a booming global economy for a weak currency. I still believe that the dollar is not falling, rather, other currencies are rising and that will help us in the long run.

Airbus, VW Headed to America

The euro’s seemingly inexorable drive toward the $1.50 mark may have slowed down for now, but companies in Europe seem to have sped up their search for strategies in dealing with the newly weak dollar. European jet-maker Airbus and auto manufacturer Volkswagen both have decided on a solution: The two companies are actively looking into building factories in the United States.

According to a report in the Monday edition of the Munich daily Süddeutsche Zeitung, Airbus is looking into building a final assembly plant in Mobile, Alabama. The prerequisite for such a move, the paper reports, is a contract for 180 refueling aircraft the United States Air Force has tendered. Airbus is competing against Boeing for the sale, and a final decision won’t be made until the beginning of next year. Airbus is targeting the relatively poor state of Alabama in an effort to win political support for its bid.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen is also looking to build a factory in North America in order to minimize the hit it might take should the euro remain strong. “Our scouts are looking intensively for possible sites in the US and Mexico,” Jochen Heizmann, VW’s head of production, told the industry weekly Automobilwoche over the weekend. He said the company needed to develop production capacity outside the euro zone.

The move had been hinted at in mid-November by the head of Volkswagen of America, Stefan Jacoby. He said that the factory would likely be built in the Eastern Time Zone to facilitate communications with the mother ship in Germany, but no concrete plans have been mentioned. Jacoby said at the November Los Angeles Auto Show that an announcement on a North American factory would be made within the next six months.

Environmentalists Encourage Jews To Light One Less Candle For Hanukka To Help The Environment.

This qualifies as our Asinine Global Warming News Of The Day.

‘Green Hanukkia’ campaign sparks ire

In a campaign that has spread like wildfire across the Internet, a group of Israeli environmentalists is encouraging Jews around the world to light at least one less candle this Hanukka to help the environment.

The founders of the Green Hanukkia campaign found that every candle that burns completely produces 15 grams of carbon dioxide. If an estimated one million Israeli households light for eight days, they said, it would do significant damage to the atmosphere.

“The campaign calls for Jews around the world to save the last candle and save the planet, so we won’t need another miracle,” said Liad Ortar, the campaign’s cofounder, who runs the Arkada environmental consulting firm and the Ynet Web site’s environmental forum. “Global warming is a milestone in human evolution that requires us to rethink how we live our lives, and one of the main paradigms of that is religion and how it fits into the current situation.”

Cofounder Tom Wegner, who heads the public relations firm Update Marketing Media, spread the campaign via mass e-mails and through social interaction Web sites like Facebook and Hook.co.il. He said no money had been invested in the campaign, but it had already raised awareness around the world and made people realize that they have to consider the environment this Hanukka.

Wegner said he did not consider the campaign anti-religious. The unlit candle could be the shamash, which is not required for the mitzva, he said. But he said he would encourage people who do not keep mitzvot not to light a hanukkia at all for environmental and educational reasons.

“We have many environmental traditions in Judaism like Tu Bishvat and Succot, but there are also traditions like Lag Ba’omer and Hanukka that made sense when they were instituted but are more problematic now in the days of global warming,” Wegner said.

“There are many people who just light candles for the tradition and for their children,” he said. “To tell a child on the eighth day that we are not lighting the last candle as a sacrifice for the environment is an act that is not only educational but also will prevent the release of a huge amount of carbon dioxide that would hurt the environment.”

Shas MK Nissim Ze’ev said he was not convinced by the environmentalists’ argument. He warned that the campaign would take away from the light of Torah that each and every candle symbolizes.

“The environmentalists should think about how much pollution is caused by one solitary diesel truck on the road,” Ze’ev said. “They should be fighting the trucks instead of Judaism. This is so trivial, so anti-Jewish and so anti-religious that even the worst anti-Semites couldn’t think of it. Just like the Helenists, they are trying to extinguish the flames of the Jewish soul.”

United Torah Judaism MK Avraham Ravitz called the environmentalists “crazy people who are playing with the minds of innocent Jewish people.” He said the campaign would only convince people who do not light candles anyway.

“They should encourage people to light one less cigarette instead,” Ravitz said.

Rabbi Benny Lau of Jerusalem’s Ramban Congregation, who is himself an environmental activist, praised the good intentions of the people behind the campaign. But he said the environmentalists should be trying to reach out to observant Jews instead of running campaigns that turn them away.

“People in the green movement who have an agenda have unfortunately made it anti-religious,” Lau said. “This makes religious people think incorrectly that anything environmentalist is against them. The damage ends up being a thousand times the benefit. Tikkun olam [fixing the world] must be done by adding more light and not by adding more darkness.”
