The letter “e”/“E”
Lines 1-2: “e” and “E” look different, but they are essentially the same.
Line 3: Some classical compositions have the musical key of “E” in their title, e.g., Adagio in E for Violin and Orchestra.
Line 4: An “e” at the start of a word can have a “short” or “long” sound.
Lines 5-6: An “e” can combine with other vowels (“my peers”) to make various sounds, e.g., “ue” as in “fuel”, or “ea” as in “leaf”.
Lines 7-8: Often, when found at the end of a word, the “e” is silent.
